Ex-Royal Navy communications branch and amateur radio enthusiast. I've been interested in radio since I was 13 years old. I mainly operate voice and data modes on HF (20 and 40 meters) but also have an interests in Amateur Television, SDR, WXSAT, antenna building and homebrew projects.

Other interests include machining, motorcycles, cycling and spending time with my family.

Myford lathe all setup now. Received my new cutting tools, rotating dead centre and 4 way tool post yesterday. First job was to make this scalar ring adaptor for an LNB from aluminium tonight #hamradio #amateurradio #myford

Few months since I turned my HF rig on and dreading it because new neighbours house is lit up like a Christmas tree. Pleasantly surprised to find noise are lowest levels ever across all bands. I did add my chokes antenna end so will have to remove them this evening to see.
